We launched our Felixstowe group at St John’s Church on 12th January 2017, following success in Ipswich, Framlingham and Kesgrave.

Our Suffolk-based feel-good singing groups are open to adults of all abilities, unashamedly singing great pop songs in harmony to backing tracks. There’s no audition and members don’t need to read music or have any experience. Repertoire at the time included Take That, The Beach Boys and Beyoncé. Rehearsals are very informal, with an emphasis on fun and gently developing members’ singing skills. Regular performances continue the relaxed vibe and members can choose whether to take part or not.

Pop Chorus was founded by professional singer and vocal coach Yula Andrews. She started the first group in Framlingham in 2012, and the entire choir has since grown to several hundred members across Suffolk.

“When I started Pop Chorus with just 8 singers in 2012, I never imagined it would grow in this way. I’m passionate about how good singing is for people and can’t believe how lucky I am to run such an amazing choir, full of the loveliest people you could hope to meet. My mum lives in the town, so I’m very excited to be launching the Felixstowe daytime group in January. I hope people come along and give us a try – we can’t wait to tackle some catchy songs next term.” said Yula.

The Felixstowe group usually meets 10am-12pm Thursday mornings – check our choirs page for latest information.
