‘Stronger’, our return to the Regent

We’re thrilled to be making a very special return to the Ipswich Regent Theatre this summer with our 10th anniversary concert.

Over 250 singers from all 8 Pop Chorus groups will fill the stage across two performances to sing songs by Calvin Harris, Kirsty MacColl, Blur and Lizzo, amongst many others. This show celebrates human vulnerability, strength and resilience, particularly during the tough times we individually go through in life, and collectively over the last couple of years. The show also marks the choir’s first time back on stage together since 2019. Pop Chorus are well known for spreading joy wherever they go, so these performances will be no exception.

Having raised over £50k for local charities in their first decade, the choir will be raising funds on the day with new partner 4YP, to help their invaluable work supporting young people in our region. You might even get to see some of them in the performances!

This really is ‘feel good singing’ and proves that we are STRONGER together.

Choir Director, Yula Andrews, said “When I started the choir in April 2012 in Framlingham, I never imagined it would evolve into this amazing community. In the past decade we’ve had some incredible experiences, from opening the BBC Sounds stage at Latitude to singing on the pitch at Portman Road to getting our charity single in the charts, it just keeps getting better.

Leading this group is a privilege and a dream come true. The fabulous pop songs, great singing and glorious harmonies are great, but Pop Chorus is so much more than just a choir… this is society at its best – kind, benevolent and powerful.”

Pop Chorus presents ‘Stronger’ at Ipswich Regent Theatre at 2:30pm & 7:30pm Saturday 2nd July 2022. Book tickets online at www.ipswichtheatres.co.uk.
